The Low Res Digital Film Festival returns to San Francisco, after dates in New York City, Rotterdam and Los Angeles. The Festival focuses on how desktop computers and digital video tools are affecting the way people make independent films. This year the festival is presenting a new music program sponsored in part by FLUX. FEEL SURREAL is a screening of rare and little seen music visuals generated on computers for some of electronic music biggest names: The Future Sound of London, Ken Ishii, Meat Beat Manifesto, and The Underworld. The director's of these works include Tokyo's Koji Morimoto (art director of Akira), Chicago's H-GUN LABS, and England's foremost design collective Tomato. Perry Farrell's ENIT Festival is getting rolling for summer. Call (212) 330-9134 to hear the current lineup recited by Perry himself - Black Grape, Love and Rockets, Farrell's own Porno for Pyros, and Lady Miss Kier (Deee-Lite). Rumor has it the tour will feature top UK DJs in each city like Carl Cox and Andy Weatherall. We will keep you posted when exact tour dates are announced.

BUZZ, a D.C. monthly will be featuring a World Class lineup this August - four of the planet's top DJs - Sasha, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, LTJ Bukem - these same DJs will be touring the US around the same time, though not together.

Who needs Rave Lollapalooza? Philip Blaine, Chaotica and Insomniac announced ORGANIC '96, a festival celebrating the electronic dance culture. Live performances from Underworld, the Orb, the Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Meat Beat Manifesto, and Loop Guru. DJs include Michael Dog, Jason Bentley, Eli Star, Trance, Ron D. Core, and Raymond Roker. The event will take place Saturday, June 22, 1996 at Snow Valley Resort in San Bernardino National Forest from 7pm till 6am. Tickets have gone on sale for the Tibetan Freedom Concert, a two day music festival for a free Tibet to take place June 15 and 16 in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The line-up includes the Beastie Boys, Bjork, De La Soul, Fugees, Cibo Matto, A Tribe Called Quest and many more. The event is being produced by Milarepa, an organization co-founded by the Beastie Boys to support the Tibeatan people's non-violent struggle against the Chinese government.
Rumors of a rave Lollapalooza persist... Web music magazine Addicted to Noise has reported that Perry Farrell (Jane's Addiction, Porno for Pyros) is focusing more on a new touring electronic music event and less on Lollapalooza. Last year Farrell produced the Enit Festival with Moby, Tracy Lords, Sven Vath, Freaky Chakra and Single Cell Orchestra. Line-up for this year's Underworld, Prodigy, Leftfield and Chemical Brothers?
